I’ve only recently started painting with gouache so i don’t have a lot of experience. I decided to buy a refill of titanium white from this brand because i use it the most for mixing with other colors. The only other brand of gouache i’ve used are the holbein acryla gouaches and those can be quite expensive to refill, but i’ve enjoyed using them a lot and think they are worth the investment if you want a quality brand.
I think the quality of this himi gouache is alrightish for the price and quantity. It’s sort of watery and “jelly” in texture as stated in the description. I made sure to shake and massage the bag before using it to make sure it’s properly mixed. If you want fuller coverage while using it, you might have to paint over 2 or 3 layers with this one. Painting with it feels like painting with the cheap acrylics you can get at the big box stores, if that makes sense. Unless you want the watercolor look, i don’t recommend adding more water to it. Mainly bought one just to try.
